Sharpe 1.2 mm Tip RAZOR Pressure Feed Spray Gun (289232)
The Sharpe 1.2 mm Tip RAZOR Pressure Feed Spray Gun (289232) is a professional-grade HVLP spray gun designed to deliver a flawless, "Class A" finish. This pressure-feed system is ideal for a wide range of coatings, including high-solids clear coats, waterborne base coats, and single-stage paints. Its advanced design provides superior atomization, ensuring a smooth and consistent spray pattern every time. Engineered and built in the USA with 100% stainless steel fluid passages, needle, and nozzle, this gun is highly durable and compatible with the most demanding modern coatings. The ergonomic, lightweight design and low trigger pull are crafted to reduce user fatigue and provide a comfortable, precise painting experience.
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS:
Superior Atomization: The gun's advanced air caps and nozzle design provide a finely atomized spray, resulting in a smooth, high-quality finish with no texture. This is especially beneficial for achieving a professional "Class A" surface.
HVLP Technology: The High Volume, Low Pressure design ensures efficient material transfer, reducing overspray and saving on coating materials. It also helps meet environmental regulations for air consumption and emissions.
Compatibility with Modern Coatings: Built with a complete stainless steel fluid path, this gun is corrosion-resistant and fully compatible with waterborne paints, as well as a variety of high-solid and solvent-based materials.
Low Maintenance Design: The gun is constructed with fewer internal parts and features ultra long-life needle packings, which reduces the need for frequent maintenance and lowers the overall cost of ownership.
Ergonomic Comfort: The lightweight and balanced design, combined with a comfortable handle and a low-pull trigger, minimizes hand fatigue during long painting sessions, allowing for greater control and precision.
Tip Size: 1.2 mm
Air Inlet Size: 1/4" npsm (R 1/4 – 19)
Fluid Inlet Size: 3/8" npsm (R 3/8 – 19)
Max. Air Inlet Pressure: 100 psi
Max. Fluid Inlet Pressure: 300 psi
Air Consumption: 14.4 CFM at 29 psi
Preparation: Ensure your air compressor is set to the correct pressure (Max. 100 psi) and your paint pot or fluid supply is connected securely to the 3/8" fluid inlet. Ensure the coating is properly thinned and mixed according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Adjusting Air and Fluid Flow: Begin by setting the air pressure at the gun to the recommended 29 psi. Use the fluid knob at the rear of the gun to adjust the material flow to your desired output. A good starting point is to open it fully and then back it off until you achieve the right amount of material.
Testing the Pattern: Spray a test pattern on a piece of cardboard or scrap material. Adjust the fan pattern control at the side of the gun to achieve the desired spray shape—either a narrow, focused spray or a wide fan. Make small adjustments to the fluid flow and air pressure to optimize atomization and pattern shape.
Application: Hold the gun perpendicular to the surface at a consistent distance (typically 6-8 inches). Pull the trigger fully and move the gun at a steady pace across the surface, overlapping each pass by about 50%. Release the trigger at the end of each pass.
Cleanup: After use, disconnect the fluid and air lines. Clean the gun thoroughly using the appropriate solvent for your coating. Flush the fluid passages and wipe down the exterior to prevent clogging and maintain the gun's performance.
