Plan the contents and the space around them

Measure your longer tools, cases and bulky items before choosing a cabinet or cart. External width does not describe the usable interior of each drawer. Check the drawer layout, internal dimensions and stated load limits for the model.

For mobile storage, consider the route around your workspace, handle position and locking arrangements. For fixed cabinets, follow any assembly, wall fixing or anti-tip instructions supplied by the manufacturer.

Will a drawer fit my socket set?

Compare usable drawer width, depth and height with the actual tray or case, including clearance to remove it.

Can any organizer hold every socket?

Check the drive sizes and retention design. Socket length and outside diameter can affect spacing.

How much weight can a cart carry?

Use the listed total and per-drawer limits for that model. Do not infer a load rating from its appearance.
